High cpu usage in compuer mode with serato dj pro ( prime 4)

Does anyone experience very high CPU usage on Serato DJ pro when connected to Prime 4? ( im on latest Serato version with latest Prime 4 firmware) when connected in Computer mode ( as a controller)?, any solution? i have core i5 8 gb ram SSD laptop, never had any issues with connected to Pioneer… only with prime 4 - any advise?

Did the other controller have so many colour screens, LEDS etc for the laptop to control, and as many buttons for the laptop to watch for, as the prime 4 does?

it’s a DDJ sx1, works flawlisly, only with Prime 4 CPU always high

The latest Serato a resource hog to begin with. Without knowing your full machine spec, try the suggested optimizations from Serato. The single most important optimization of any Windows machine with a USB Audio/MIDI device connected is the Disable USB Power Management.

By disabling the USB power management, you can free up bandwidth on the USB bus which will help with issues related to device recognition and driver installation. To turn it off, follow the steps below:

  1. Open Control Panel
  2. Click on Device Manager
  3. Double-click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers
  4. Double-click on the first USB Root Hub item
  5. Click on the Power Management Tab
  6. Uncheck the box that says “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” and click OK
  7. Do this for all USB Root Hub and Generic USB Hub items

The sx is a very basic piece , no displays, far less buttons and leds to take up the computers resources. The prime obvious has a lot more that the computer has to keep track of - it’s trying to juggle 10 batons now instead of only 3 or 4

A controller with more features on it will stress out a laptop more than a controller with hardly any features on it

all done still the same issue, only with prime 4… everything else is perfect

In serato settings move bufer size to 5 or 10 ms. By default is 1 or 3
