Help recording mixes from the x1800

So im currently using audacity to record running a usb into my laptop (surface laptop 2) from the x1800 however there is no sound coming into audacity. This doesnt seem to be a problem when i use my friends macbook as setting up audacity exactly the same on the macbook has sound.

i assume my computer is missing some sort of sound card. My question is would i be able to purchase some sort of device that would allow me to record on my computer? etc master RCA out > device > laptop? or would this run into the same problem as using the usb out on the x1800 mixer

Do you see the X1800 audio card in Windows after installing the drivers?

Then record input 9+10 in Audacity. Also check privacy settings in Windows; it might be that Audacity is blocked.

If you see the x1800 in windows, try another USB cable. When I used a USB 3 extension cable plus the USB 2 cable that came with the mixer, audio stopped after few seconds, wasn’t there from the beginning or was distorted.
