Headphone problem. Suddenly, just one channel was heard (right)

Hi there.

Last weekend we had a friends party. I was in the middle of the musical session, when suddenly the preview of my Denon Prime 4 controller, was heard through my HD-25 headphones, only on one channel, the right one.

I did several tests, pulling the 1/4 plug in and out, screwing it in, unscrewing it, and leaving only the small 3.5 plug to connect to the other socket. In none of the tests it was solved, it continued to be heard only by one channel, the same one, the right one. It is true that by inserting the plug slowly and making contact with the bands of the left earphone, it was heard briefly. Which, logically, implied that the headphone problem was not. The cue / master knob was all the way to the left, in the “CUE” position.

Suddenly I imagined and tried restarting the controller, which was not in good taste as I left the audience without music and the problem was fixed.

Anyone else has happened?

Could you know the origin of this failure?

Thanks. Regards.

Did You accidentally click on a SPLIT button under the headphones control knobs in the middle of the PRIME 4? That switches the headphones to CUE on one side, and MASTER on the other side of the headphones.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Sorry, but I hadn’t noticed that button existed. The controller was left to me by a friend. The funny thing is that the master was not heard through the other earphone, that is, the left side.

In any case, I am going to try to meet my friend tonight and we will do the verifications, since this weekend we have another party and we do not want to make the same mistake.

Thanks again. I will try to report my tests. A greeting.

also… If you’re using HD-25’s, check the little red & black 2 pin plugs that go directly in to the earpieces.

Just keep on replacing the cables, the drivers, …the headband.

HD-25’s. The “Trigger’s Broom” of headphones.

I have had this happen to me a few times… all you have to do his turn on and off the split cue button.
