Hardware of Software Issue: Denon SC5000M Backwards Spinning

Hey folks,

There seems to be an issue with a unit a buyer has returned to me. It never happened to me but upon receipt and testing the product, I’ve been able to consistently get the platter to fail/spin backwards.

Is this software or hardware related?

What version of firmware does it have loaded and have you tried reloading that firmware or upgrading if not on the latest ?

On 4.3.1, factory reset and reloaded firmware via usb updater plugged into a laptop too. It was never an issue in previous versions I was on but the buyer said this issue was also present on 4.3.0

You could try a downgrade to 4.2 although it does sound like a hardware fault to me

Yeah the hardware fault is my biggest worry
