What is “this fix” called? It sounds as if we may have to wait up to 30 days for it, but how are we supposed to know if/when it installs, so we can be sure our stuff will work?

Ask Microsoft to wake up. They broke it, so they should fix it.
We all know that microsoft is dumb. But the dj apps developers must help DJs who trusted them by fixing any issues they face. microsoft is not a music development company but inmusic is, and still no firmware to fix the sc6000m issues and no 4.5 update for the desktop app. so yes they are sleeping in honey

Both Microsoft and Apple need to take ownership of this - their one team (each) of developers should provide the fix, not divert 1000’s of companies developers attentions from their own roadmaps, to patch up Microsoft’s and Apples fudge ups
