From one title to another, I am not the same volume.

Hello, I have a problem with volume equalization with prime 4+. From one title to another I don’t have the same volume or the same tone. Is there a way like iTunes to make sure that the song titles have the same equalization?

Hi,

the main reason for volume differences is that tracks are mastered at different levels, and there’s no automatic “one-size-fits-all” equalization in DJ gear like iTunes’ Sound Check. You need to set the gain for each track manually before bringing it into the mix. Keep an eye on the meters and aim for consistent levels across tracks.

Gain alone can’t fix everything, each track has its own loudness and dynamics depending on how it was produced and mastered. If you’re mixing older and newer tracks, older ones might be quieter (less compressed), while modern tracks are often louder due to the loudness war. Sometimes, tracks simply don’t blend well together. In these cases, you can try slight EQ adjustments to match their tonality, but there are many situations where tracks simply don’t mix well.

Some DJs use software to remaster/enhance their tracks, like Platinum Notes, from the makers of the Mixed In Key software:

I haven’t used this myself. I set my gains manually and try to avoid mixing tracks that simply don’t work together …
