I was playing around with the effects and transitions on the Mixstream Pro Plus and I found a bug. I was using the filter roll effect on deck 1 and I wanted to make a transition by raising the filter on the highest level with the smallest duration, playing the 2nd deck track and lowering the volume on the 1st track with the effect. The issue was that when I tried lowering the volume it didn’t work. I tried changing volume, crossfader, bass, treble, mid, filter and none of the above seemed to have any impact on the channel’s volume. I’m not sure if this is intentional, but in my case it was dysfunctional, and thankfully I was just trying new stuff for my sets.
Just to be sure. The roll effect works like a looping sampler. If you engage it, it samples the following audio according to the configured beat division, and then automatically loops it. If it captured audio and it keeps playing it - until the effect is disabled - you will hear audio when the dry/wet setting is not on dry only. This would explain why you kept hearing audio even though you closed the channel fader or even paused the track.
I don’t see a dry/wet option in neither the effect view or the settings. Am I missing something?
I don’t own one, but did you check the effects settings in your screen?
What do you see here if you select roll effect? I would expect the slider on the right below to be a dry/wet slider.
Ah right, you were talking about the touch fx. The latch button functions as a hold, maybe that one was enabled. You can see whenever it is enabled in the performance view, by a subtle animation in the icon.
I tried it with the latch and it still didn’t work until I enabled the fader echo. With fader echo it works as it should an the channel volume can be adjusted properly, but… well there is an echo… So I think that this is actually a bug.
Can you record a video of the issue?
That’s interesting. I was indeed able to reproduce it on my Prime 4.
I suspect it is intended behavior, to allow users to still use the filter echo even though the filter roll touch fx is enabled. Maybe someone from the inMusic team can confirm it.
