Feature requests for Fixture Manager: Channel Sets

I’d love to see the ability for us to define what’s called “Channel Sets” in professional lighting consoles, like e.g. grandma3.

They way this would work:

  • For any given Attribute, in the Values dialog, let us set speaking names for value ranges. Right now, it’s super limited and only offers Unknown and four Shutter/Strobe related predefined texts for the Description. This should be a free text field where we can actually enter a meaningful description.
  • In the SoundSwitch UI, whenever value ranges have been defined by the fixture designer, open a picker from which the user can pick. This would greatly enhance usability. Right now, users can only ever move the slider and see values, even if ranges have been defined by the fixture designer.
  • Ideally, allow to rename Attributes. At least for the attributes Attribute 1 to Attribute 30.

This would be super helpful. For example, my Martin Mac Ones have RGB values and a second, Virtual Color Wheel. If the above would be available, I’d change Attribute 1 into Virtual Color Wheel and would define the five value ranges according to Martins documentation (0-50 > Magenta, 51-60 > Wedding Light, etc.). A user could then pick from these speaking entries, when in SoundSwitch.

I hope the above does make sense and would love to discuss with the SoundSwitch team.
