Hello SoundSwitch Support Team,
I would like to suggest a new feature that would greatly improve live performance workflow, especially for users working with moving heads.
Currently, Static Looks are useful, but they are limited when trying to combine multiple fixture attributes during a live show. For example, position can be set to THRU, so the moving heads can continue following the programmed AutoLoops. However, color and intensity often need to be set statically, which means the lights no longer behave as programmed — they may stay at 100% intensity and one fixed color.
The feature I would like to suggest is either:
- An improvement to Static Looks:
-
allow multiple Static Looks to be active at the same time,
-
allow THRU mode for all unused/unselected parameters,
-
allow each Static Look to override only selected attributes or DMX channels.
Or alternatively:
- A new section called “Attribute Cues”:
-
Attribute Cues could be created in Edit Mode,
-
each cue would control only selected fixture attributes, such as Gobo, Prism, Full Color, Frost/Atomization, Gobo Rotation, etc.,
-
in Performance Mode, there could be a new tab next to Color Overrides and Position Overrides called “Attribute Cues”,
-
users could assign these Attribute Cues to performance buttons,
-
multiple Attribute Cues could be enabled at the same time.
Example workflow:
-
Button 1 enables a selected GOBO,
-
Button 2 enables PRISM,
-
Button 3 enables FULL COLOR,
-
Button 4 enables FROST / ATOMIZATION,
-
while position, movement, color, intensity, and other AutoLoop programming can continue running normally unless specifically overridden.
This would avoid the need to manually create every possible combination, such as:
-
GOBO 1,
-
GOBO 1 + PRISM,
-
GOBO 1 + FULL COLOR,
-
GOBO 1 + PRISM + FULL COLOR,
-
etc.
With advanced moving heads, the number of combinations becomes very large and difficult to manage. A layered Attribute Cue system would make live operation much faster, cleaner, and more flexible.
This feature would be especially useful for DJs and lighting operators who use SoundSwitch in live performance situations and want more control over fixture attributes without interrupting programmed AutoLoops.
Thank you for considering this suggestion. Best regards
