Not trying to start a riot, but they use the players, but not mixers? Any theories?
Pure preference, I guess.
My mixer preference would be a Model1, but to be honest, apart from the pricing, completely inefficient and not flexible enough using SC6000ās.
I am fine with x1800/1850, but my mixer of choice is Xone 96/DB4.
I had x1800 for 4 years - great mixer and really opens up the possibilities of the players.
Muscle memory perhaps?
Most are doing more with their mixers than the decks.
Holy āish that latest LINKāD Sessions yesterday with Cristian Varela was frickinā AMAZEBALLS!! Super impressive!! I would love to know if all those decks were networked together and running off the same flashcard/hard drive. Anyone know?
Bravo, Denon, for continuing to churn out these great vids wā top tier talent showcasing the SC seriesā capabilities alongside Beatport Link. This is superb advertising. Reminds me of the old āDJSoundsā vids that Pioneer used to produce back in the day to showcase the CDJs/DJMs. Haha, back in 2020, I actually suggested to Denon that they should do something exactly like this.
The second dude is using 6 motorized decks with a Model 1
@KevinBasher is that your evil twin?
@Vandetta I donāt think the X18xx mixers can handle 6xsc6000mās to answer you question.
Got a link to the video? Have to check before I can confirm anything!
Here you go. Check after 1hr 3min De La Swing and Cristian Varela @Denon DJ x Beatport: LINK'D Sessions | @Beatport Live - YouTube
Can confirm itās not my evil twin - he doesnāt even use hot cues.
Set up looks impressive but he barely scratches the surface (pardon the pun) of whatās possible with the players
Other than the DJM-900NXS2. What other mixer can quantize effects?
X1850 can quantize effectsā¦
I know, I have the X1850, I meant outside of Denon and Pioā¦
No mixer probably can do it without the proper link like bpm dataā¦
All my songs have BPM data. Any other mixers you know of that can do it? The higher-end mixers seem to focus on external FX.
Dope, but I am asking about an outside mixer. I KNOW Pio can do it. Any other mixer read BPM?
Are you talking about bpm detection or reading Pioneer DJās or Denon DJās proprietary protocols and using them for fx?
The only mixer that can use bpm from a Denon deck is a Denon mixer that was designed for it. Other mixers will only calculated the bpm from the incoming audio of the Denon engine deck. The only mixer I can think of that you can actually use Ableton Link via midi for bpm and quantizing is this, Behringer | Product | DDM4000
BPM detection is what I was trying to say. which @Wyley1 cleared up for me.
Right this is what I meant to say, not reading the BPM but calculating via audio signal.
Many mixers can do this already. From Behringer DDM4000, Reloopās (RMX40,60, 80, 90, Elite), Denon X1500,1600, 1700, 1800, 1850, Ecler Nuo 5, Evo 4, Evo 5, Pioneer since model djm600, American Audio MX1400 DSP, Synq SMX.2, and 3, Numark 5000FX, Numark DXM09, DXM06, Rane 62, 64, 68, 70, 72 and 72 mk2 And many, many more⦠The list can be longā¦
