Engine OS 5.0.2 - SC5000 Prime intermittent blank waveform after update (worked correctly on 5.0.1)

Hardware

  • Denon SC5000 Prime

  • No internal SATA SSD installed

  • Music stored on external USB SSD (Samsung T7/T9)

  • Engine OS 5.0.2

Issue After updating from Engine OS 5.0.1 to 5.0.2, the detailed (zoomed) waveform intermittently fails to render on the SC5000.

The track loads normally and the player correctly displays:

  • BPM

  • Musical key

  • Track duration

  • Cue points

  • Beat grid and bar markers

However, the zoomed waveform area is sometimes blank (black background) while the beat-grid markers remain visible. Other tracks may display normally, and the problem was not present on Engine OS 5.0.1 using the same hardware and the same USB media.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Update SC5000 to Engine OS 5.0.2.

  2. Insert a USB SSD containing an Engine DJ exported library.

  3. Load multiple analyzed tracks.

  4. Observe that some tracks display the detailed waveform correctly while others show only the beat-grid markers without the waveform.

Expected Behavior The detailed waveform should always render behind the beat grid, as it did on Engine OS 5.0.1.

Actual Behavior The beat grid, BPM, key, cue points, and analysis data are present, but the detailed waveform intermittently fails to render.

Additional Information

  • This issue did not occur on Engine OS 5.0.1.

  • The same USB media and Engine DJ library were used before and after the firmware update.

  • Multiple analyzed tracks exhibit the issue.

  • The player does not have an internal SSD installed.

I’ve attached photos demonstrating the behavior.

Please let me know if there’s a workaround or if this is a known regression in Engine OS 5.0.2.

This happened to me on 4.3.4 sc6000, not the whole track but part of it went blank. As well as the audio, it glitched. I think it fixed when I reset the whole library and started over. Probably this database change since 5.0.0 causes this type of issues more
