Hi all! Question to developers: are you guys planning to introduce wireless sync? Can Engine DJ expose the library to local network at some port so Denon DJ syncs it w/o a wire? It’s 2026, c’mon! ![]()
I can already envision future forum posts where people are saying that their decks won’t hold sync, and will fight tooth and nail that their WIFI is absolutely perfect and nothing wrong w/ their wireless network at all. ![]()
While modern WIFI is entirely capable of holding a realtime sync signal, it is not immune from of being disrupted by radio interference, causing an increase in packet transmission and a potential issue in the sync packets.
Whereas, a wired connection, even at 100MB/s that is in the current line of decks (minus the Rane System One perhaps), is way more reliable due to the nature of the physical media.
It’s 2026 after all.
And somehow it is perfectly fine for syncing via Dropbox?
Come ooooon! ![]()
I’m not talking about syncing decks while playing. I’m talking about syncing library from Engine DJ to the decks’ hard drive.
OMG - i totally misread what you meant by syncing.
You meant file-syncing and I somehow interpreted that as “beat sync wirelessly”.
Architecturally, I’m not sure that it’s possible with the current generation of hardware from what I understand.
I mean, does it download files from dropbox to your local storage or does it stream them?
No worries ![]()
I’m sure that Dropbox or any other provider is an unnecessary encumber between my laptop and the deck perfectly sitting within the same WIFI-network.
I’m not talking about the fact that I also do not store my music on the laptop, rather on a NAS, and you still cannot mount a network volume to Engine DJ in 2026 (that’s okay, I can go over this using mounts on Mac).
Let alone I’d rather not use Engine DJ like at all, authenticating perfectly capable SC6000 instead directly to my NAS via widely supported samba protocol, so the only thing I’ll need is to keep my library well organized… but okay ![]()
