Engine dj usb cable. Not wifi

The Denon SC Live needs to end the Wi-Fi connection issue as soon as possible. I want to connect via USB cable, not Wi-Fi like other DJ apps and devices, because no matter what I do, I can’t connect to the Engine DJ app via Wi-Fi. I started a thread, but I kept repeating things I already knew, and I couldn’t get the right results. The Denon SC Live 4 doesn’t work at all with Wi-Fi. Is Denon insecure? For example, I connect to Serato via USB, but Engine DJ forces me to use a Wi-Fi network. All XDJs, all NI products, also offer USB cable connections. Engine DJ doesn’t have a USB cable connection, which is ridiculous.

Because engine dj is not a dj software. You can’t dj with it. What is that you want to achieve?

Remote network library works perfectly fine via wifi.

Engine DJ is for preparation. Not performance. Full stop.

I think the point he talks about is that accessing Engine Remote Library only works via Wifi (or LAN). An option to simply use a standard USB-cable would be cool. So far that is indeed only meant to connect with DJ-software.

In short:

  • USB: Just for controller mode (with 3rd party software)
  • Network: Just for Engine Library access

That being said, I don’t have connection issues via Wifi myself, both on my Live 4 and Prime 4.

I don’t want to use it for DJing. I want to access my music library without using a flash drive. I can do this with Rekordbox, both for USB preparation and performance. Why not with Engine DJ? The Denon SC Live already reads the USB flash drive I prepared with Rekordbox. So what’s the point of using Engine DJ?

As already stated in posts above, the point - currently - is to prepare/manage your library to be exported for USB/SD/SSD. Whether or not it will eventually be a full-on performance software, I don’t know.

So let’s simply think about it this way: Why can’t I do things I can do with Wi-Fi on SC Live via a USB cable?

Unless I’m missing something here, one of these & a network cable would solve your problem.

Simple. Because it doesn’t work that way.

  • The computer doesn’t emulate a Mass Storage Device
  • There isn’t a network protocol implemented when you simply connect the two devices with a USB cable

I’ll say it again. Engine DJ is for preparation for your performances.
