In the most recent version, i’m seeing strange fullscreen flashing and playlist re-ordering whenever I change the BPM of a currently loaded track in Dual Deck mode. I’m viewing the playlist that the track sits in, and the playlist is only nested one level from the root. It’s a new playlist, created after 4.x release and all the tracks are newly imported since then.
Each + or - command to change the track bpm causes the whole app to seemingly stutter and reload the entire UI, freezing for a second or two. It’s really strange and has never done this in prior versions. I have a Ryzen 5900x and an RTX 4090 and the Engine app definitely shouldn’t be acting like i asked it to render a 4k video or anything.
My library is about 3 or 4 years old with roughly 11,000 tracks.
Has anyone else seen similar issues on this version, running on Win10?
Freezes have been observed in version 4.0 of Engine DJ when using certain UI elements. Maybe your issue is related to this. The Denon team is aware of the freezes and working on the next update.
Check the nVidia driver to see if there are any settings that optimize the game interface, such as improving sharpness. Add the Engine as if it were a game and assign a default profile to it. Save and see if it solves the problem.
I had a similar problem here where the entire Engine GUI simply disappeared. This happened because the AMD Adrenaline software “thought” that the Engine was a game and assigned the game profiles to it as well. But this is normal, since the Engine uses the GPU to draw its interface.
I just saw a notification for 4.0.1 update but i’m not gonna install it until i can see some changelogs or release notes, which i’m guessing just haven’t been posted anywhere yet. Fingers crossed!
