One Library is simply Alpha Theta making a power play. Nobody is obliged to comply with it and I suspect it will be kicked in to the long grass.

lol - so ranes new model gets pretty waveforms before prime units did.

My OPINION is that news is only of consequence to those who are both selfish about new features, and overly impatient.

InMusics move a couple of years ago (and they’d have been developing the prototypes of the new Rane back then) for each piece of Prime (or Rane, or Numark) hardware to render it own waveform, rather than storing a pre-rendered waveform, now makes plenty of sense,

Agreed. Cuts down on DB size as well. But personally I prefer the current waveform and don’t see any advantage in RGB. Each to their own ……

RGB and 3-Band waveforms are usually rendered from the same data. RMS/Peak level of 3 frequency bands.

But 4.5 seems to require a re-analysis.

I don’t like the new analysis & rendering of RGB waveforms in Engine 4.5. Too much emphasis on red/bass frequencies.

Sure. Either RGB or classic Tri-Band. But RGB requires re-analyzing.

My bad but that’s even more concerning. Why can’t the current devices use the new desktop software? To me it seems Engine DJ for the older hardware has hit a wall, but we’ll see.

Are other Denon/Numark products getting Engine 4.5 to match the System One?

As posted previously, I have the Rane System One running 4.5 alongside the Prime Go+ which means I need to have two separate laptops for the different Engine versions and two separate 1tb SSDs for the database and files. Hopefully this is resolved soon as it’s going to get a bit messy for me if left too long. Having to maintain two separate collections isn’t ideal at all.

@Homeland101 btw, ive been having a read of the system one manual and it seems that page 21 has an interesting addition (and page 22 for that matter), that looks suspiciously like one of the top 3 most voted feature requests

Star rating directly on the player Yeah I noticed that when reading the manual at day one. As you say nobody else seems to have noticed.

Defintely snuck that one in there under the radar. I also like the ability to assign functions to the scroll wheel, being able to access the library simply by rotating it is going to be really useful, and will save the dreaded view button falling inside the player issue.

There is no view button any more (well on the System One anyway) however the downside is you can’t tap it twice to go to Engine lighting. I did raise a post asking for another shortcut assignment however.
