Dynamic beatgrid like DjayPro & AI tools for EngineDj

It would be really cool and useful to have a fluid dynamic beatgrid like DjayPro, instead of manually placing markers, we are in 2025 Engine should integrate some kind of AI tools!

What do you think? Do you agree? Have you ever tried DjayPro? How advanced is it?…

DjayPro has the most advanced grid creation method and a similar implementation would be a nice thing to have in every dj software: probably in the future we will see this everywhere

I had raised this also i think it will become the standard going forward i can’t see why engine would not develop their own version of this. I use Dj Pro sometimes and forget when using RB or Engine the beatgrids do not auto adjust🤣

Denon with EngineDj is falling behind in this aspect and they should get a move on!

I’m still waiting for a bug regarding beatgrids that was acknowledged a year ago to get fixed, and the implementation of stems was the most basic possible. Be nice if it ever happens but I would seriously doubt it.

Well it’s not as if every other DJ software/firmware has implemented fluid beatgrids, and Engine is the only one left…

IMO there’s still only one vendor that’s done it properly, and that’s Algoriddim. The Rekordbox version is apparently not on the same level, and the other companies haven’t done anything - although Atomix have said (quite a while ago) that they’re working on it.

It’s exactly a year today since VDJ 2025 dropped so this could be the day for it being in the 2026 release :tada:

Lack of realtime stems like DJay has had since 2022 is keeping me from using my Prime Go+ in standalone mode. Beatgrid is better too but not as important to me as stems. I get that you can download tracks and prep them but it doesn’t work with streaming like it does in DJay. Otherwise, I love the Denon and Engine DJ.

I have successfully DJ’d events for 30 years before ever using stems in my set. I have been utilizing stems since Algoriddim dropped the first version, I think 2019. But I DJ on gear without stems all the time, and I feel my sets do not suffer. The beatgrids though, the accuracy of DJay’s grids I feel is more of a game changer. I can hit sync and do a 30BPM transition and it sounds perfect.

@PKtheDJ I’ve just seen the “leaked” VDJ 2026 YouTube video and it looks like fluid beatgrid is not featured in the update at all. Ah well maybe next year…..

I know, right? Some are saying there’s probably more to come, but I’m not so sure.

Just waiting on Engine OS version now, in the meantime I’ll carry on warping old tracks with ableton.

Yeah, Ableton Live is the daddy if you want to straighten tracks out - but now VDJ can do it too. They call it stabilizing. Apparently they plan to add an export function.
