Drum pads on sc live 4

Can a drums pad be connected to the sc live 4?

thank’s

What kind of drum pad? For what purpose?

The answer is no, but I’ve suggested this before.

It would be useful to add some extra pads, so for example if you’re using hot cues on the onboard pads, you can trigger e.g. samples from an external device. Even if it’s restricted to Akai units, it would help. Some of those things sequence as well, which is missing from the Prime hardware.

I wanted to add a rhythmic base, always assuming that it is possible, like James Hype does, yes I know  he uses a professional object, I was wondering if something can be added, for me the only thing that came to mind is to install some apps on your iPad and connect it via Bluetooth

So basically, You want to add a sampler / sequencer…?

let’s say yes, but I wouldn’t want to “play” it, I would like to set it and let it go until I turn it off and lower the slider

Best option is Akai MPC One Plus. It can run in sync with Prime 4 via Ableton Link (using same lan or wifi network). It can be routed to one of the channels that You set to Line in. It will then be controlled with standard EQ, fader, headphone cue, etc…

but I have sc live 4 does it work the same?

Any product with Ableton Link can be synced to any other product with Ableton Link. That’s the general idea, many devices have Link built in (including sampler apps and hardware).

See here Link-enabled music making products | Ableton

Yes, use Aux input (on mic 2 you have your aux). Ableton link can run on wifi, or if You buy a USB hub with additional lan port, you can sync ableton link via lan cable too.

Even a noname USB-to-LAN adapter works in my case. Akai Force with the Live 4. I just never utilized it properly, because I am so focused on my lights. But it’s great to know that inMusic supports this de-facto industry standard.

Anyway: Ableton Link is your friend - utilize it! This great video here gives you some examples:

thanks everyone, I’ll watch the video and see if I decide to buy it

You’re right in terms of functionality but, good grief the colour of the dam thing makes it look utterly awful… boy racer red - just add fluffy dice…

My friend has one and in real life it looks better than on photos.

On the photo with my akai force, arturia, launchcontrol xl and Xone 96.

There’s probably a nice black/dark grey skinz option for it
