Djoid - any experiences?

Hi all,

I’m seeing ads for this new dj-tool called DJOIDS - anyone who can tell about any first hand experience with this?

Best regards

It got on my radar a few days ago, but didn’t find any reviews or examples. If it only relies on metadata I wouldn’t trust it that much.

Why? Because there is more to selecting the order of tracks than just by their key and BPM. When you mix live you select the next track not only based on what song is currently playing, but also on the last few tracks you played before.

What I would like is a system that learns from my own transitions and suggest tracks based on my history. With a parameter to select a ratio between my own transitions and new suggestions.

Imagine having it setup to a 60-40 ratio:

60% of the tracks suggested are tracks you usually mix with the current track.

40% of suggestions are tracks that might work based on metadata (key, BPM, energy, genre, tags etc)

This would be very useful for resident DJs such as myself who need to keep each weekend fresh but familiar.

BUT: This would work the best if integrated in the software you are using, like Engine OS, Serato, VDJ, etc

Just a bump on this topic - has anyone had direct experience using Djoid?

I’ve been considering trying it. Their verbiage seems to indicate that it is doing more than analyzing metadata now but it could just be marketing speak. I’ll probably wait til the next time they put out a discount code and give it a shot.

I like their “visual” set-list builder, and that you can keep “building” on the latest track you picked.

It would be amazing if Lexicon had this :slight_smile:

@Christiaan - Any thoughts on this? :slight_smile:

Lexicon has the Mixable Tracks feature which is similar I think, maybe less flashy but it has lots of knobs to turn for a well organized library.

We might build a bigger setlist tool, either as Lexicon utility or separate app, if that is something that DJs are missing :slight_smile:

Yeah, you do have the Mixable Tracks feature, but as far as I remember it creates a full mixable playlist (but I might be wrong), and dont let you take tracks 1 by 1, like Djoid that gives you 9 different tracks to pick from, based on the latest picked track.

Just signed up for a Lexicon demo again yesterday, to see what has changed since last I subscribed. I like it so far, I must say.

Yeah it’s definitely different, but the same idea under the hood I think. More cool things coming in that area though!

But if I misunderstand how to use the Mixable Tracks, please enlighten me :slight_smile:

For me its a :star::star::star::star::star:

DJOID is already changing how I prep and organize sets. The AI-based track discovery and graph playlist visuals are super intuitive and have helped me reconnect with hidden gems in my library.

Yes, around 20% of the sub-genre matches or track pairings are a bit off, but honestly? 80% is spot-on, and that’s a huge deal for something still evolving. The 10k track limit is noticeable, but manageable for now.

What really makes DJOID stand out is the amazing support team. They’re responsive, human, and genuinely open to feedback. I feel like I’m part of a community, not just a product.

It’s not perfect yet, but it’s on the right track. DJOID has real potential to become an essential DJ tool – it’s just a matter of time.

I tried it. I do like the features for set building but I find the genre and energy level detection to be too inaccurate to be usable as of now. Mixed in key seems to be more accurate for energy levels for me. But I still see a lot of potential if they can cqn continue to improve their predictive models.
