DJM 900 NSX2 with SC 6000

Just got my hand on a nsx2 hardly used and 4 years old. In mint condition… I want to pair it with the SC 6000 as I think they are superior to the cdj 3000 and I had the sc 5000/1800 before. But to get closer to club standard I think I will go with the nexus 2… However some say you will lack features that are integrated in the denon flow… However will it work with a nexus 2 and sc 6000?

I myself use my sc6000Ms with a Pioneer mixer. In reality, you don’t lose much functionality with this configuration.

You lose the quantization of the effects essentially, but the pioneer mixers detect the incoming BPM very quickly and you will still have the effects applied to the BPM but not quantized.

You also lose a part of soundswitch compatibility. You’ll be able to use soundswitch but you’ll need a computer with soundswitch installed and running in performance mode so that it can retrieve midi signals from your DJM to find out the fader positions.

Whereas with the x1850 and the Engine connect protocol, the mixer communicates directly with the players to exchange this information, so you don’t need a computer with soundswitch.

That’s pretty much all you lose.

It’s not a dealbreaker from my point of view because the DJM/SC6000 pair works very well alongside it.
