id think before you went out on a gig that you’d connect the controller into computer mode and use the disk tools on your computer to diagnose. you may already have it connected to your computer if you are syncing bins, etc.
if you are on a job and you check it and it tells you there is an issue, not much you can do at the moment, which makes it a good idea to have a backup thumb drive or external ssd in a caddie. I have a 4TB ssd to mirror my 4TB SSD in the 4+.
not discounting your idea and the reasons behind it – just saying those tools are already present on your computer when you connect it, and often we will connect to the controller to add/remove files, etc…
