the Perfect Device would be a Prime 4 with the Layout of the SC Club Gear. Something like the sc6000/x1850 as a all in one.
Mine would be to take the Rane Performer mixer layout in a Prime 4+ body but with a 12” touch screen and full sized motorized SC6000 platters, make the centre 4 fader panel into a aftermarket 4 ALPS fader rotary with no crossfader option. Also add support for M.2 SSD.
How would that be any different than prewiring a sc6000/x1850 club setup in a travel case like this?
Because it would cost less?
What I am trying to say is at some point you need to stop trying to make something into something it isn’t
All in one units were meant to be a portable/light solution (same as controllers) for mobile DJs - but if the size keeps getting bigger and the demand for features also then all it means is that you want to have a full club setup but pay less.
And then, full club setup is more redundant - you can swap out any defective deck / mixer at will with any device you want, on top of that more connectivity, more options to divide the decks and mixer for ease of transport = more flexibility. Weight is almost the same as full featured all in one if it will grow to the size of full dj set.
All in one’s have a benefit of being cheaper as common components can be shared eg: processor, power supply, display, memory
All in ones have a disadvantage of when one part goes wrong, you have to send the whole thing away for repair. If you’re rough with your kit then this could be a pivotal point.
