Hi all, it seems ive made a mess of a firmware update.
Start-up screen has 1.6 listed but my unit gets stuck on the booting lightshow. Likely because I had some difficulty getting the update process to work.
When I try and start the updater I get ether device can not be found or version is already up to date error(but it says version 1.0), how can I force a flash in the case of the latter message ?
I really need a way to force the update..
IIRC the update is a two step procedure. You can start the second part manually from the directory the updater installed into.
When the mixer is in “receiving data” mode, you could reseat the USB cable and run the second part.
To get into update mode: Hold BACK + FX CUE + TAP > Power ON
Use USB port1 preferably.
I got to this point due to the poor instructions for updating and then thinking there was a fault with the update process then attempting these instructions instead Problems updating x1800 - Engine DJ Hardware / Mixers - Engine DJ Community which led to more confusion and a bricked unit.
I need to reattempt the updating/flashing process which I can not do as the updater (when it works) says im already up to date so i need a way to force the update/flash regardless of version installed as the current flash is incomplete
Try the second part of the updater, but I don’t know if you can get to that step directly.
See under Windows in the folder: c:\Program Files (x86)\Denon DJ\X1800 Firmware Updater\STM32\

I have managed to get the Updater to work and now my X1800 boots again. Will say this is the worst firmware update experience of any product ive used.
