Denon SC Live 4 - Help! Stopped working with SERATO

Hi,

Previously everything was working perfectly, but now my Denon device will no longer connect to Serato.

After a fresh PC restart, I can connect the Denon to Serato on the first attempt. However, the sound output then starts glitching. This can be temporarily fixed by going into Windows Sound Settings, changing the sound format (switching from one format to another), and then switching it back.

Unfortunately, on the second attempt to connect, the Denon no longer connects at all. Serato shows the message “hardware is connecting” and states it may take up to a minute, but the connection never completes. In many cases, Serato simply freezes.

I have already tried reinstalling all drivers and software, but the issue remains unchanged. I have also tested different USB cables and different USB ports on my PC — the result is the same every time.

It was working reliably before, and now it doesn’t. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated ! I know it’s a standalone unit but I do enjoy STEMS.

Could be related to the Microsoft midi 2.0 mess in a previous Windows update. Google it to find out more.

Have a look at this fix.

Hi,

Ok, I am not an expert but I have fixed it!

I did what was mentioned about the midi 2.0 issues above.

Then, I had some realtek sound updates in settings>windows update.

Then, went to windows security alerts (found it through the little show icons box bottom right with an exclamation mark)>app and browser control. In here was a thing called smart app control which I had never seen before. Turned this off.

Once I got it working with the decks the sound was glitching, so went to settings in serato>audio USB buffer latency and turned it to 10 or 20.

Then it worked! I have made an account just to write this as this has been p**sing me off for months!
