Well after almost 4 years of loyal service with my Denon Prime 4 and with an average of 30 evenings per year… this one is showing a sign of weakness and the worst part is that it’s buttons that I don’t use or see very very little and the problem is on the right side!
The Key lock button no longer clicks when pressed, it looks like it’s stuck and yet… it works! But how can a button that I don’t use get stuck??
And it’s the same with the “Shift” button! There is exactly the same problem, the button seems stuck “no clicks when pressing”, namely that it is very little used! It is used occasionally to erase HotCue and Loops and lately for activating the Sample bank.
Most of my events start from mid-April to early October, I would try an after-sales service but I’m afraid it will take several months, I’ll do the troubleshooting on my own, but I don’t dare scratch into it (I have not seen a disassembly / assembly tutorial) to know that it will not scare me too much having in the past made my own sound amplifier and more recently I install the HF Dmx card internally in different lights.
What would you advise me???
The warranty is over for almost a year!
Last Saturday the shift button worked very well!
For the Key Lock no idea because it is always activated so I did not have to touch it!
Namely that I noticed it when I had finished installing the new skinz in white to replace the chrome skinz! The skinz is well positioned (it does not block any button). It is very very strange!
I own a Prime Go, but for wedding party use…it’s too limited!
I use it for wedding ceremonies.
In addition, I would miss a microphone channel and a line input with bass / mid / treble corrector to connect an instrument or a computer to recover the audio from a video which will have to be corrected if the sound is too medium or too high. , the auxiliary input does not offer this, too bad!
I almost bought a colleague’s Prime 2, but his P2 was behaving strangely! I retracted!
What about purchasing one of these to use alongside your prime go? ive bought one to bridge my connection between the Prime 2 and the house system so i can perform reboots without cutting the music off. You can then run your mic into one of the channels of this sub mixer, alongside some other instruments too if needed.
Also… i acted stupid, because i had another one from Prime 4, but i sold it thinking i would buy the P4+, and in the end some of the money is used to rent a utility for weekends and a car for the week since my van was stolen from me, which I used for private and professional use and that almost 2 weeks ago.
I just had the skinz lightly touching the two buttons (Key Lock and Shift) I carefully peeled the skinz off the deck and replaced it and everything works like clockwork again !!!
Thanks Stu-C! Before it was chrome but there were lots of micro scratches and it was starting to have angles that were coming off and I was also starting to get tired lol
The Prime 4 will match the Prime Go which was already in white!
