Denon prime 2 questions (mcx 8000)

I tried looking on the forum before asking these questions.

I am interested in the prime 2 but see nothing about it working with serato, is this being implemented or not? I’m really hoping so as this will probably seal the deal for me (or break it)

I have also been interested in the mcx 8000 for a long time as well, I see it’s about to get another firmware update which is great.

I use a ddj-sx3 & a ddj-sr2, both are very good units although I am not a pioneer fan at all (returned both ddj-1000 models already)

I’m looking to get rid of the ddj-sr2 & get one of these 2 units mentioned above.

Any feedback as to owning a mcx 8000 in 2020 for my 2nd controller? I’ve always been intrigued by this controller but all the complaints I’ve read have kept me away but seeing another firmware update is about to release has me excited.

base your purchase decision on the current feature set and your application

no guarantee serato support will happen.

make sure you buy from an authorized dealer for after sales support.

Also, even IF Prime 2 gets Serato support, it will most likely require restart in controller mode like the Prime 4 to be able to control Serato.

MCX8000 does not require that and you can easily mix tracks from SDJ and USB source at the same time.

The MCX8000 is a great controller and it is true what @SlayForMoney says, just make sure that the controller comes with the new hardware boards (the problem that you have read from the screens is from some old boards) those that come with the new hardware do not titrate problem any

greetings and luck

In namm interviews, Denon staff seems to say there will be No Serato support in Prime 2 and Prime Go. It seems logical because they want to develop Engine OS.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I guess I’m just hoping I would be comfortable playing 4 hour sets off a small screen with a large library
