Denon DN-S3700 - Disc eject problem

I have a problem with my Denon Dn-S3700 dj player. The Denon Dn-S3700 player neatly retracts the disc and reads it. The CD player plays every CD without any problems … The problem occurs when the disc eject button is pressed … Disc ejection starts but it seems as if the mechanism is slipping and there is no power to eject the disc out of the player … the CD literally does not come out…as if it is stuck inside the player…What is the problem? is the problem in the laser or the mechanism itself? I have reviewed the blueprints for the Dn-s3700 and I see that the spare parts related to the cd mechanism state 00D3370147001 but as I can see thats the laser only … It seems to me that I should change the whole mechanism … Please your expert opinion …

And after a long search I found original new CD mechanisms for my DENON DN-S3700 players. I bought 2 of them without thinking. Even after replacing both mechanisms, one still doesn’t eject the CD properly. It always seems to slip. I have the feeling that the rubber that ejects the CD has literally hardened from age and just slips without pushing the CD out… DENONs get on my nerves a bit, but they are the only ones that have a CD mechanism.. Pioneer doesn’t install it in top models anymore… And neither does DENON… And on what should I listen and mix all the CDs I’ve collected for years??? Frustrating

The SC3700 came out in 2009 when cd’s were still the main media being used but the 3700 can also play music from a thumb drive. Rip your cd’s and load the files and play from that.

Rip all your CDs to hard drive

I dont have so much time… Also , I am old DJ and I prefer analog sound not digital..

If you rip you CDs at 44.1/16 bit wav there should be zero difference in audio quality.

Arent CDs digital?

It’s distinctly possible we’re wandering into “old dog/new tricks” territory here.

This ripping and downloading kills the music..In my opinion, ripping and streaming have ruined music.. Especially dance music. Before, records and CDs were listened to for months and danced to. Today, music is released on a daily basis and so many songs go unnoticed in all that pile of low-quality music… I still own Technics SL1200 turntables and they have an unrivaled sound compared to a digital source.. That’s why I keep these DENON DN-S3700s because they sound very similar to my turntables…

You’re preaching to the choir about records and CDs my friend. But the truth is, digitising your music is just many times more convenient with modern gear.

If you’re hellbent on wanting the tactile experience you can use DVS with your 1210s.

At the end of the day you’re trying to repair parts on obsolete devices that were made by a different company than InMusic, at some point you gotta bite the bullet and let them go the journey.

Oh dear. ‘The vinyl is better’ discussion starting here… Waiting for the stair-step graphs.

I’ll refrain form further reality checks, unless asked.

Not sure if it’s the same cd drive mechanism, but I inherited some DN-S5000’s that couldn’t insert or eject cds a few months ago. Seemed like the load mechanism was slipping. I removed the cd drive module (very easy serviceable method), took them apart and cleaned the rollers with alcohol and slightly damp wipes, then dried out before re-installing. They now work perfectly.

I don’t have so much time for this ripping…Also my DENON’s plays without any mistake… Problem is only ejecting of the CD..

Andrew, I tried that solution with alcohol. And still nothing.Problem is also on the surface of the CD..If it is smooth, then slippage occurs more often…But the only thing no one mentions is the little belt that drives the CD ejection mechanism-..Maybe I should change that small belt…It’s on the mechanism itself…I’ve already ordered 4 pieces so I’ll try it..
