Is it possible to copy Engine DJ to a second computer? I’m on a couple of Macs. I know you can copy the “Engine Library” folder over, but it doesn’t retain the order of columns (artist, title, bpm, etc) … I looked in the ~Library/Application Support section, no luck. Maybe it can’t be done?
Yeah absolutely. The only challenge is keeping your ~/Music/Engine DJ/ folder in sync.
I use two macs and have no issues with keeping my playlists in sync.
The other consideration is your music location. I keep music on an External SSD and move that between my macs.
Good evening, I changed my MacBook and downloaded the program, but it doesn’t let me do anything. The program crashes when I try to close it, it doesn’t load the iTunes playlist, and it doesn’t let me create any playlists. How do I fix it? I use a Denon Prime Go without a PC. Thanks.
Welcome to the forum Ruben!
Did you use migration assistant when changing laptops? Also, is there an OS version difference to account for? Perhaps the binary you downloaded is not compatible with whatever OS version you are using?
My MacBook broke, it was no longer usable, I bought a new one, I installed the latest version of Engine. I installed all the programs I had for DJing on my Mac, the only one that doesn’t work is Engine, it seems a bit silly to me, someone loses or breaks the Mac and can no longer use Engine?? there will be a way to fix this problem
I’ve upgraded laptops 4 times during Engine’s lifetime (since 2017) and never lost a library or the ability to run Engine because of switching machines.
You take the time to reply but not answer my questions, which could lead to the solution. I won’t waste any more of my time if you aren’t willing to lean in.
