Computer mode constantly disconnects from Serato

Topic says it all. I’m using a 2022 Macbook Pro with Serato DJ 3.0. Denon Prime 4 has 2.4.0 firmware. I use it with Serato only. The USB port on the controller broke so I sent it in to be repaired. Since then, the controller disconnects constantly to the point it isn’t usable. I sent it back in and had the same part replaced again, same problem. macOS is up to date, as well as all drivers and firmware. Nothing else is plugged in. Any ideas? This thing is not usable (after 2 years of flawless use) and I’m about ready to ditch it for a Pioneer controller.

Have you tried swapping out the USB cable for another known working one?

Yes sir. I’ve tried with 3 different MacBooks and multiple cables.

Looks like a phisical damage for me. Bad USB connector, damaged board, bad soldering.

It may not be your Prime 4, see here…

Have you/can you maybe try an older version of Serato?

ok guys. I’ve tried older versions of Serato, as well as newer versions. @BennyTee, I appreciate the video, but it’s not what my controller is doing. Here is what my controller does, language warning FYI:

I don’t have a video where it disconnects, but just assume it’s Serato being fine and them BOOM, it disconnects like in all these videos.

I am with @rcatelli , but still looking for anybody else that has seen this. I have owned this controller for 2 and a half years and never had a problem until it was “serviced” by the place Denon told me to get it serviced by. Which, by the way, I had to pay for, even though the damn thing broke while it was under warranty, but Denon didn’t F****in respond to me until a couple months later. I am still talking to this place and it’s been back there twice, but they say it’s my Mac, because they used Windows and it worked fine. I’ve tried this under 3 different macs with various versions of the firmware and serato and the same damn thing happens every single time. What y’all think? I appreciate all the input, but sigh, I just need a working controller. I was ready to get the SC6000’s and all that, but now, unless I can get this sorted, Pioneer it is. I’ve been adamant about not going Pioneer. I have Rane hardware too, but they’ve been a problem too. Sigh. At least my 1200’s work.

Denon , what do you guys have to say? Y’all wanna take on Pioneer but can’t even provide us customers with service? Speak up.

Yup, but they maybe tried for 5 minutes? It’s hard to know. Gently jiggling of the cable near the controler ‘forces’ a stop? Could be a good testing.

If it worked perfectly until repair, almost for sure it’s a usb connection issue. You don’t really know how it was serviced without disassembly. Is the conector nicely soldered? maybe the usb socket board was damaged and some sorte of bridging/jumper had to be made? You’ll never know.

As far as pio is concerned, sh1t happens with every brand. Had a DDJSX with Serato and it never worked nicely, but was perfect with traktor. Had a DJM 850 and had to tweak a lot of stuff in traktor and Windows to make t run perfectly on my hibrid setup .

Sorry for the weird english, I’m from Brazil

Have you given permission to Microphone Access, Accessibility, Full Disk Access in System Preferences, then Security & Privacy on your Mac ?

I’ve tried old versions of serato, new versions, new firmware, old firmware, etc etc etc. No difference. I have even plugged in my old macbook that I haven’t updated anything on, that worked fine with it, and same problem.

Yup, all permissions are set correctly.
