Comparing prime 4 to cdj nexus2

Hello everybody, I have been using prime 4 since 2-3 years and I have just bought a pair of used cdj 2000 nexus 2. Cause of the “industry standard” problem… I never used cdjs and just tried them today for the first time… well, to me it was like going back to the middle age. I mean how much extra effort you have to put in, just to do some basic stuff? cdj people surely need to spend hours on their rekordbox just to settle off the points… beacuse is so complicate to do that on the fly, as I am used to do with prime 4. You need to prepare carefully every song before. I am so disappointed…

Anyway, do you think prime 4 has chance to become eventually a new industry standard? I hope so because is way more user-friendly and cooler than cdj! I mean literally in almost everything. If they find a way to separate the channel output, (ie so you can send a single channel to a rmx-1000) i think will be the perfect product. What do you think? Has anyone tried both too? thanks!

Prime 4 has far superior tech for sure I love it. Even over the 3000 its better and more cost effective by miles. If you want to play in clubs if they are open you probably need to learn both unless your bringing your own gear.

The 3000 too? That is weird, i thought it was the presence of the cd to cause such lack of functionalities, because they had to make them work with the mechanical of the cd too… I am totally amazed on how a 2000 € piece of hardware is soo poorly thought. I feel like having a block of wood with 2 dumb buttons. I am sure in 5 years the new genetation of controllers will inevitably take the place of the cdj, that will become like the old vinyls.

I think pioneer is outdated and denon is the future and better value for money and build quality I have been in the dj world for 20 years and I have had pioneer cdjs in the past and they went wrong after a year so that’s says a lot about pioneer even their dj controllers are not a patch on the prime 4 I have had mine for two years and it’s reliable and has none of the issues I have had with pioneer gear in the past including cdjs, controllers.
