Choose between Classic (3.X) and Modern (4.X) player layouts on SC6000M

I consider the player layout of the Engine 4.X on my SC6000M’s a huge downgrade in comparison with the 3.4 version, especially because of the excessively small track timer, track overview waveform positioning on top instead of the bottom and the trimmed space for the track titles.

Because of that, I was happily keeping my units on 3.4, but now, I am missing on STEMS because it is only available on 4.2+!

My request for Denon is: PLEASE allow the user to switch the player layouts between “Classic” (before 4.0) and “Modern” (After 4.0). That way, everyone can enjoy their players the way it best their preferences, allowing some old guys like me to see the time left on their tracks easily! More customization options are always better!

I am not sure this is the best place to post this, but hopefully Denon will consider this for the next update!

Hi Gustavo,

I too liked the older layout. The forum is the right place to ask. Maybe you can write a feature request. :slightly_smiling_face:

I prefer it too, but I highly doubt it’ll ever be given as an option. I believe the whole UI change was done with their future ideas in mind, so accounting for that and the classic view in the same space is probably not going to happen.

But yeah 3.4 and earlier certainly looks more preferable to me.

Thanks for the link @djliquidice ! I posted the feature request there and I am waiting for the post approval. Hopefully it will get traction and get released in the future!
