I am moving to all music on my Mac, but have a minor issue which would be good to resolve. I have read about issues with some track sync - when I sync tracks to USB on my Mac from Engine I get missing tracks on my controller, but they are all fine in Engine on the Mac. I get round this by creating the same data base on my PC and then syncing on that to the USB. the only thing I can think of is how the Mac/controller interprets character sets, with my music files, which are listed in Spanish. anyone else had similar issues, any solutions?
Currently it’s a limitation.
The way around it is not to export to a drive within Engine OS. If you have the music on your drive already and import via drag & drop then scan in Engine DJ it will not show as red and missing.
In the search engine, in the entire collection, you search for “á” and all the tracks that contain an accent on the letter a will appear. You change them and do the same with the other vowels. It’s a bit laborious, but at least it works for now.
Many thanks will give that a try.
I fear I may have too many tracks that are impacted but will give it a go also.
Hi, I have the same problem with missing titles. Replacing vowels with accents actually fixes this bug. I hope this will be fixed in a future update.
Now I’ll have to tackle my library.
There are mp3 tagging software which will do character replacement automatically across an entire drive - but, I suspect you’ll need to analyse the tracks again in engine after you’ve made the changes to the tags
It’'s not on the tag, I need to change the song name directly.
Try tag&rename
Thanks but this software it’s for Windows Only, I’m on Mac OS.
kid3 can change filenames.
windows and mac compatible
I use the first 2 in that picture.
If you only do filename changes, and the normal tag (ARTIST, ALBUM) still contains umlauts etc, when exporting with sync manager, engine uses the tags to create artist and album folders so the issue may persist.
This is how i havemine configed
Thanks mufasa for the link and the tutorial. This will help a lot of people.
