Changing ID3 Tags on Hardware

There as got to be a way of changing something like genre on the hardware, right? I looked at the user guide and it says this:

To update a track’s information: 1. In the track list, click a track whose tags you want to update. 2. Click inside the field you would like to edit. You can edit any of the following fields: Title Artist Album Comment Genre Key Track # Year Label Composer Mixarti

But that does not seem to work. I am using SC6000M players if that matters. What am I missing?

The fact those instructions say ‘click’, is it not taken from the desktop app manual?

Ok thanks. So is there now way to change tags on the hardware?

Unfortunately, it is not yet possible on hardware. but I would dearly wish it were possible.
