Change language of the onscreen keyboard Prime 4

Is it possible to change the language of the onscreen keyboard from the Denon DJ Prime 4 for example like on a smartphone? I am a German - Russian DJ and at the moment it is impossible for me to search for Russian songs in my library because there is no Russian keyboard and it is not possible to change the keyboard easily. Maybe it’s possible to bring an update to fix this? I think many DJs will profit from this. Not only changing to Russian keyboard but also to other languages.

I am using the Prime 4 as an controller with my notebook and Virtual DJ software. My plan was it to use the Prime 4 as a Standalone…

Thanks for reaching out. Not at this time, just English currently.

I think this is a bad situation. There are 300 million people around just waiting for it. All over the world. Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, from Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, and other countries. Not a sampler and certainly not Amazon Music, but precisely this basic function. Is it really that difficult to do?

Without grey importing, are prime units legitimally available to buy anywhere that the built-in keyboard doesn’t service

There’s a vast array of non-English music with metadata, artist names, and song titles using different alphabets. And if we want to play this music as DJs, it does not depend on where we are from … music connects people from all over the world and the use of a language is not limited to geographical borders.

On a smartphone it is possible to install or choose from additional languages, I would love to see this feature too. :purple_heart:

A smartphone manufacturer has several GUI testers and translators per language. They sell also a sh**load more devices so perhaps that’s warranted.

Same goes for Windows/MacOS.

I don’t particularly fancy my native tongue on a DJ device. English is fine for most world inhabitants.

Yes, IMHO…

Edit: I’m talking about screen language. I see the OP talks about keyboard layout. My bad.

Hey all. So I was having the usual search problem on Prime 4 and that’s what kept me from going full standalone most of the time. I’ve decided I had to do something, so I created an app that reads the tags (in my case Greek but also I added Cyrillic/Russian support) and copies the Artist-Title in the “label” tag field of the audio file. This keeps the tag you see on your screen as is, but search can see the “label” tag and bring the results back. Also before applying the “English letter version” of the Artist - Title you can modify what will be written to your liking, remove numbers e.t.c The program is set to look at the tag first, but if nothing is there for some reason it will check the filename too.

Make sure to long press the little arrow on the search and enable “label” as one of the search fields on the Prime. Of course if your library is already on the Prime you are gonna have to reimport it.

What I did was all Greek songs I had, I fixed through my app, then in the Engine on my computer I selected all, right clicked and chose “Re- import file information”. Then I Synced my collection to the Prime as usual. Another way is select the music folder of the hard disk on the Prime when its connected, and it will bring all non English songs so you can “inject” the tag. If your collection is large that might take some time although the program seems to be quite fast so although I have not tried that, it might not be too long. (Don’t let the link scare you, its a free hosting site powered by LimeWire) Download install and enjoy. Feed back will be appreciated.

Has anybody tried a cyrillic or greek external usb keyboard on the Prime4 yet?
