Cat out of the bag?! Prime GO+

It is in there for Prime Go. I already tested it myself.

BTW it’s not that Bluetooth Audio isn’t “professional” it’s that BT Audio is designed to be very robust even when there are a lot of other Bluetooth and WiFi devices in the same space.

This means it uses packet retransmission in the event of data packets being lost due to interference.

As a consequence, Bluetooth devices use a relatively large data buffer in order to keep playing continuously while they request and receive the missing data packet(s).

This means BT is actually great for transmitting music, but there will be latency between the transmitter input and receiver audio output. This latency is noticeable when trying to beat match music between speakers and your cue audio, so it’s not good for DJing - it’s designed for stability in contested radio environments, not low latency. Plus it is designed to interoperate with other BT devices no matter what the manufacturer or version number.

There are proprietary wireless protocols and devices which are specifically designed to be low latency, like the Syncomm chips used in Behringer’s Ultralink microphones on 2.4 GHz, but they are closed systems where the transmitter and receiver are specialised and won’t interoperate like a BT phone or speaker would.

But… in just the same way for the rest of us, one persons perspective is not everyone’s, or necessarily everyone’s perspective.

There are many leeches out there who practically ground their typing fingers down to stumps when Tidal increased their monthly subscription by the cost of a beer… who quite possibly use Amazon Music at home on their smart speakers and might be keen to save 20 bucks a month on Tidal and just use Amazon Music. A saving of 300 bucks a year could justify an upgrade of a Go to a Go plus for some people.

( Incidentally, a big difference between those two services is, Amazon Music doesn’t grind to a halt, to the point of being unusable, on New Years Eve. )

Also, if there are some people who were holding off of buying a Go because they just needed an extra hour of battery life, and didn’t want to go down the rather precarious route of using adaptors and mobile phone power banks, they too could be viewing the 25% increase in battery life on the Go plus with fresh anticipation.

Also, although yet to be verified either way, someone’s posted screenshots on social media which appears to show 3 band Mic EQ on-screen of what appears to be a Go plus. This was a feature which some felt was missing from the original Go without a way of firmware updates being able to reach the mics as an aftermarket update.

So changes… any changes, may appear insignificant to some, but could be a really useful additional for others.

Seems to be (at least) two different topics going on in this thread.

That’s potentially going to get complicated to follow when someone else posts “me too +1” as we won’t know which conversation they’re "me too"ing

Maybe a mod can split them then. I just thought I would post in an already existing topic about the Prime Go+

Thanks for your reply. I do mot know alot about audio engineering so I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge. I purchased this device to have fun with and maybe some day to play the music I love im front of a few people.

So…do you know if it transmits the signal to two devices at the same time, like blue tooth stereo speakers…it seemingly doesnt work for me. Each speaker gets bumped, when the other is in ‘streaming’ mode.

Phones and devices like the Go don’t split the Bluetooth Audio stream into different left and right channels for multiple speakers, but the right type of speaker can support re-sending one of the channels to a similar speaker for separate stereo wireless speakers.

It is dependent on the Bluetooth speaker whether it supports this feature or not. Speaker 2 gets connected to speaker 1 in a special mode.

That’s for “Classic” Bluetooth. Things change with “Auracast”: the name for the newer Low Energy Bluetooth Audio protocols, but at the moment almost all devices in the market are “Classic” Bluetooth.

I’ve been following this over the last few months. It seems pretty promising as a spec.

@TJDJ is 100% on point. This is how many (if not all) bluetooth earbuds work.

Yup. Sometimes called Party mode or similar, like the feature described below…

Yeah.

I saw this first with the UE Boom line of Blue Tooth speakers.

Fun bit: while most people likely wouldn’t hear it, I can hear the phase difference (latency) when you split up audio between speakers.

I have an LG XBOOM PN7 and it’s called “Wireless Party Mode”. Like the other brands, you can connect 100 (like *why?). * My old Bose S1 Pro had something that did two I think.

InMusic’s own Alto Pro Busker can do two together as a stereo pair Alto Professional - HIGHLIGHTED PRODUCTS Series > Busker

On a unrelated note, I’m still ■■■■■■ at myself for not buying a pair of Numark Lightwave/Alto Trouper/Spectrum speakers when they were available since I cannot find similar column format speaker now :frowning:

I always wanted some of the Lightwave column speakers.

InMusic are missing a huge trick by not re-releasing them but with Engine Lighting support and updated internals.

Having a pair that syncs with lighting would be pretty awesome.

First time out with the Go+ and VDJ for a wedding tonight. Absolutely flawless.

Sennheiser radio mic has an EQ built in so it sounds great.

Extended screen skin by Electronic Green Room has so much information on it. Great job

Tell me more about the Sennheiser radio mic that has EQ. …do you have a model number?

I was looking at a pair of them going on Ebay but never bid, now I’ve got my eye on a pair of Denon Dj Axis 12s for £500
