Can't add new tracks to playlist. Engine dj 3.01 windows external drive

Earlier I just dragged files and folders from windows explorer directly into Engine software. This weekend it did not work. No songs were added. How is it possible that such a vital part of the software just stops working?

Is there another way to get support on this fantastic software than the forums?

Windows 7?

My apologies. Windows 10 home edition, latest version. All the music is on an external drive, Seagata one touch ssd 1 tb. It was working before I updated Engine. Removed engine and installed it a few times, still does not work. The laptop is around 2 years.
