Bug with editing beatgrid on p4+

So yesterday i had my first experienced problem after upgrading to 5.0.3 firmware.

When i was playing with 4 decks i needed to change the beatgrid on 2 tracks that was a few milliseconds out of sync. When i tried to do this on the unit it changed the pitch on all the other 3 tracks that was currently playing. I had all 3 tracks going out on master output, 1 as lead and the other 2 as 8 beat loops. Off course this made it all sound messy as f##k. I could not change the beatgrid on the 4th song so I had to pick another song. 30 minutes later i needed to do the same editing to another track that was a bit wrong. The exact same thing happened, changed the pitch on all playing tracks.

This has never happened before, have alwas been able to Edit beatgrids while playing other tracks. Anyone else??

I remember on 4.3.4 fixing beatgrid on a third deck whilst having 2 synched channel sending to master out resulted in some kind of disorder/desync … sorry can’t describe better.

In consequnce, I try to prepare the tracks as good i can. If I run onto a not well prepared, i go manual beatmatch.

Btw. I believe the thread has a wrong tag… it guess “standalone” is more suitable than “mediaplayers”. Randomly tripped over it :slight_smile:

Yes thats excactly what happened to me. When playing with 4 decks i create loops with all tracks, so no chance to keep everything in time without using sync :rofl::rofl: i only have dual layer, no LC 6000s :squinting_face_with_tongue:

But yes, i agree, beatgrids should be sorted out in advance, but this time i was only playing for fun. But it hasnt happened before.

When I’ve tripped over it, I was just thinking “its not meant to be used this way”. Donno if i’d call it a bug.

I thought ok, 2 options:

  • manual beatmatch running tunes, no sync. (not suitable in ur case), i think i 'member it’s been possible to avoid the desync this way.
  • Use Engine Dj Desktop

After changin/adjusting my workflow, not to fix it on the device but on the PC, i realized it takes me way less time…

But beein’ able to do a emergency-on-the-fly-fix would be kind of QL :slight_smile:
