Engine DJ software is unable to load music files that contain Chinese characters in their file names or file paths. Please fix this issue with non-English/Unicode character compatibility.
This has been a problem since 2017, apparently UTF-8 is still a mystery to some developers in 2026.
There is this peripheral feature request.

But, this is possibly more related to the file system used on the the Engine OS unit side of things. It could be it isn’t capable or the programmers haven’t leveraged the capability.
You might do a deeper search into the feature requests and/or create a more specific one.
Totally agree this should have been implemented years ago. It’s a basic feature. As a developer I can only imagine what kind of code is behind EngineOS that has been stopping devs on fixing the filesystem and db full UTF8 support. It’s built on Linux, not Windows and MS limited filesystems. SQLite DB supports UTF8, ExFAT filesystem supports it, ext3 filesystem supports it, ext4 filesystem supports it and so on. I will hate myself saying this but nowdays even AI can fix it for you (do a code review though), cmon. Maybe a “please” will help ![]()
