Bricked Prime Go Support Needed

So flipping the pcb over I can see the recovery switch but there’s another similar switch, do you know what that one does?

I’ve had a thought, could it be that the CMOS battery is dead? It’s a CR1220 battery as far as I’m aware and it’s the last thing I’ll try before I give up.

I saw a post on Reddit that someone has the same symptoms but they let their battery deplete and not used over a weekend, and I know some electronics are super sensitive to low/no CMOS battery.

I’ll get it ordered an will report back once I get time to swap them out.

This is a good theory but it’s beyond my tech knowledge. As it’s not under warranty you’re free to poke about and now we’re in a world where ‘right to repair exists’.

Some stuff can be accessed easily for the competent but I wouldn’t recommend it for the novice out there. It seems you’ve got a bit more of a head on you so I’d approach at your own risk. Some have dislodged screen ribbons and had had black screens etc.

I’ll stay tuned to this.

Just swapped the CMOS battery out and no change. Also had a new power supply to try out and no change either. I’m going to reach out to local DJ repair specialists to see if they can run a diagnosis.

In my non professional opinion, the firmware update failed whilst there were screen updates, and the processor (RK3228) is failing to boot up without it.

What’s even stranger is that I can’t even use the recovery button along with a power button press to launch DFU/update mode. Pressing the 2 load buttons causes the screen to flicker (0.1 second it feels like) when the power button is pressed, and none of the other buttons/lights go through the start up cycle. As soon as I let go of either of the load buttons, it will go through the light up sequence then return to the dreaded 2 bank 2 mic lights being on.

If anyone is able to diagnose it that would be useful. I was thinking of using the debug serial ports UART, but I think I’ll leave this to the professionals.

If there’s no physical hardware issue and it’s a software/firmware thing then inMusic maybe able to repair it cheaper as there’s no physical parts going in.

If it’s a case of loading new firmware into the unit they may have a shorter turn around time so seeing what support say could be a better option.

Fingers crossed it’s just an hour on a bench connected to a computer at the repair centre.

So I’ve dropped the device off at Multicare Electronics in Leeds hoping that they can fix it. There’s a standard £90 + VAT inspection fee then any costs on top, hoping it’s not too much more if it’s just firmware.

Are they registered with inMusic as an official repairer?

Hopefully they can get parts and access etc directly from the service department. Fingers crossed.

Aye, in the Denon out of warranty repair section: Repairs - Denon DJ

Let’s see what happens

Hi all!

I have the exact same situation as Soulframe had on his Prime Go, exactly the same occurrences and issues. Has anyone else experienced similar, or was there any information gained from the servicing process?
