Bpm error sc6000

I’m having problems with the sc6000 cdjs. Sometimes it happens that the BPM indicated on the screen is not correct. If, for example, it reads 144, the track is going at 143bpm. This is very annoying, I don’t know if it has to do with a bad previous analysis in the engine…

Yes. If using playlists, the Prime series will use what’s in the database for file information.

If your BPM is off, it’s likely that your beat grids are off too. Try to reanalyze in Engine DJ and sync again.

Yes, that’s what I’ll have to do, anyway Engine doesn’t analyze well in many cases, they would have to update the analysis algorithm to make it more refined, Traktor or Rekordbox do it much better.

Anyway, I think something is wrong, because the times that it has happened to me when moving the pitch it didn’t even budge, it’s like I was playing with the sync but I wasn’t actually using it.

Soft takeover?

No, that’s not the problem. The problem is that the BPM indicated on the player is wrong. Additionally, when this occurs I realize that the deck master cannot be deactivated. It’s a little strange to explain.

what version of the OS are you using?

Not denying your experience but I find it incredible when people say Rekordbox has better analysis. I have to deal with it fairly frequently and it consistently does an absolutely appalling job - not just missing the first beat (common in DnB) but getting the bpm wrong and doing this weird thing where the beat grid is misaligned by half a beat, meaning that correcting it is a right dance.

Don’t know if it’s just a genre thing but Engine is much better - still often wrong, but with things that are much easier to correct - i.e. skip back a single beat and you’re done

SirReal told you a possible cause of your SECOND issue.

Your first one, incorrect BPM can be caused by multiple causes. Re-analyze option in Engine desktop should be your first step, imho

Definately worth op reading up on soft takeover which can make itself known not only during auto-sync but when using dual layers too

So why don’t you fix it live? It’s easy, you enter beat grid edit mode and manually type the BPM until you get it right, you use the beat jump feature to see how off the BPM is and in which direction.

It happens to me while playing with a live audience at least 1-2 times per night (out of 200+ songs which have the correct grid) and it takes just a few seconds to fix.

Regarding Trakor and Rekordbox being better, I’ve used them at least 5 years each. They both have problems, sometimes they mark 160bpm songs as 120. 100bpm songs as 150, and 174bpm as ~116.
