Booth in Numark mixstream pro+/go

in engine OS, it’s possible in future, to get booth in master 2 channel (rca) in numark mixstream pro? With option to speaker disabilited and knob volume booth control from ‘speaker’.

Despite being a digital all in one device, a lot of things/features are still hardware controlled. Audio routing and volume control are (I suspect) among those so I doubt your request is possible.

And even if it is, inMusic is known to intentionally segment their product’s features. In simple terms: don’t request pro features at a basic price. If this was a Pioneer device you would not even get the XLR outputs xD

Until then just get a passive volume knob with a mute switch like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Y-D-F-Switcher-Passive-Selector-Splitter/dp/B094Y9RYFW

thanks a lot for the answer. mine was more of a curiosity/possibility, since the mic eq is also managed by Engine OS. I’m very happy with the Numark Mixstream Pro and I’m already using an external volume control. thanks again Jo

Oh, don’t loose hope, my post was only a semi/informed opinion. Fingers crossed, one of inMusic people might respond here if that is possible but it would help if you made this as a feature request.

I wouldn’t exactly call $839 a “basic price”. For that much I WOULD expect XLR outputs on any device. It’s not $250 for Lord’s sake. It’s almost 4x that amount. But OP is wishfully thinking that they can make the RCA outputs work as a booth out. It’s not needed though, as the speakers on the Pro Go are VERY good and service perfectly fine as your booth outputs. Unless you have the XLR/Main speakers right near you (which you probably shouldn’t?) you will be able to hear the onboard speakers just fine. Besides, as a proper DJ, you should be utilizing your headphones anyway…

True, I used the wrong term. Entry level brand maybe would have been a better description.

Anyway, Prime Go is almost double the price so that tells you enough how things are laid out in the Engine device ecosystem.

the integrated speakers are good but not enough in certain contexts, such as swimming pools (like a water park) and outdoor aperitifs. Using the mixtream pro+ where there are people singing, dancing, talking even very close to the DJ (in this case me :-)) and in open environments, there is a usefulness of an “external” booth more powerful than the integrated speakers. Also in the heat (even 35 degrees in this period) continuing to wear headphones for all hours of DJ set is not always “comfortable”. for the moment I’m using an external volume control effectively. thanks

My advice would be to buy an external sub mixer, they can be picked up for less than £50 and will give you the wider range of outputs you need. Plus you can then utilise it if you ever have a musician or band playing alongside you. Failing that, something from the more professional range of devices with dual balanced outputs and booth control is the answer.

Budget devices are budget devices unfortunately, and many of them are designed to have a single output choice only.
