So I introduced two new variables to a Gig the other day.
I had a big HDD cause I lost my stick, which seemed to work fine.
As soon as I started taking requests with the built-in Soundcloud feature, I started noticing things moving a little sluggish, only triggering at the third tap, etc.
FOUR TIMES THAT EVENING - I played like 8-10hrs worth of music - the thing IMMEDIATELY shut off and started rebooting, netting me a solid 90 seconds before having downloaded the track from soundcloud and picking up where we left off. Crowd was very forgiving, luckily, private Event. I felt humiliated still. I’ve been doing this for almost 15 years now and have the reputation that I know what I’m doing.
So, i think it’s definitely the soundcloud thing, might be an issue in combo with the HDD tho.
Is this doumented? I couldn’t find anything here and I was baffled at it happening FOUR DAMN TIMES THIS IS UNPLAYABLE
I will play actual Festival gigs this month, back with a Flash Drive and no Soundcloud.
God help you all if that thing crashes once.
Ps. Third variable obviously was the new Wi-Fi environment of the restaurant I played in, can’t forget that. Is there a recommended Bandwidth or Port or anything to prevent this?
