The fact you can’t analyze and filter streaming playlists in the software is ridiculous. I’ve used the sc6000 to set beatgrids and analyze tracks and this is way too time consuming and almost make this feature obsolete. I can load my streaming tracks into the rekordbox free version and batch analyze them instantly. The amount of time you have to spend doing this is totally worth spending the money for pioneer gear. I don’t know how engine thinks it can compete with serato or rekordbox without this feature. Shame on you engine DJ for knowingly leaving this feature off and promoting streaming as being a viable way to DJ. You created pro gear with Denon so start acting like a pro and stop tricking your customers.
I only use my MP3 and FLAC files, I have never used any streaming service on my prime 4, but I see (forgive my ignorance) that they cannot be had with the hotcue marks etc… that is to say that they can be used as if you had the file My question is, in the event that you hire a streaming service to have the music and work almost always offline, is there one that works the same as if you had the files?.. that is, on the desktop and on Prime 4… . or at the moment it is not possible…thanks
It’s a different thing altogether.
You can analyse streaming playlists in other streaming services (don’t know about beatport, I don’t use it) as a workaround, if you’re really insistent on not being able to DJ without analysis, by playing the playlist in continuous mode (at 100% pitch if you like) - all the files will be analysed as they play.
Some have mentioned that you can just let each track play for a few seconds then skip to next track etc for faster playlist completion, but a little effort is required.
I agree however that yes, it would be a nice bonus to be able to have every streamed playlist “instantly” analysed regardless of number of tracks in the list. Maybe it’ll happen - fingers crossed.
Yes rekordbox allows you to view and batch analyze playlist as if you owned the tracks. And this is on the free version.
Taking 1000 songs and narrowing it down to 40 your going to play in a set is something most DJ’s do. Your gonna let 1000 tracks analyze, half with the wrong bpm then go back into each track and check the beat grid. That takes days or even weeks a total waste of time. Then you can’t even filter them by bpm, key or any other parameter. And yes both engine and Beatport are both advertising this to be a viable way to DJ. We are living in 2023 there’s no reason that if we can download the tracks on the player why the hell we can’t filter the playlists. Give me my money back Denon no wonder Denon and Engine split you guys really pulled a fast one on all your users.
……As preparation. You don’t need to wholesale analyse the 960 songs you’ve discarded, just the 40 you’re going to use.
Still, best of luck to you in your endeavours
If they aren’t analyzed then how do you know which ones you want to use?
