Beatport Link playlist creation Engine 2.0

hi guys!

Ive tried to create playlists from the Beatport Link source in the Denon Go in 2.0.

Ive also tried to set cue points, but they dont save in the Beatport Link streaming songs.

Is this not possible?

Only the prepare list? No ordering or cues?

Why is this not implemented? i dont want to prep in Beatport web dj app…i want to use the Go for this. Now i prep in the beatport web dj app, with a Pioneer controller…this works well. Then load playlist into the Go for gigs, but then i cant change the order of the songs…its confusing.

I don’t know if it works differently with Beatport, but I’ll explain how I do it with Tidal.

  1. You have to load in the player one by one the tracks you want to use in the playlist, so they will be analyzed by Engine OS.
  2. Later those tracks will become visible in your collection, that is, you can change the source from Beatport to your collection (USB key, SD card, HDD), when you go to your collection you will see those tracks present, with the Beatport logo.
  3. Now you can drag those tracks into a playlist, just like you do any other track you have stored locally.

Thanks!

Just to be clear…

You say i have to use the desktop program to analyze the Beatport Link songs i like, and then after syncing with the Go it will be possible to make playlists with Beatport Link songs on the Go?

This sounds confusing…

Im using the Go to find songs that match in the first place, how can i make a playlist on the Go without the desktop app?

EDIT: I just installed 2.0 Engine DJ, but there is no Beatport Link option anywhere, or at least I cant find it.

What a mess…

No, Engine DJ Desktop cannot be used to analyze streaming tracks for now.

I mean that you have to have the tracks analyzed by your console, that is, you have to have it downloaded and played in one of the decks.

okay thanks brother

i will look into this a bit more

Ok bro, Let me know how it goes.

Worth a try but when you first power on the Prime Go, select either an SD card or a USB source first before going to Beatport Link. This will give the unit a source to store the cue points and grid data. On the Prime 4 (and others with inbuilt HDD) you need to tell the unit where to save this data. With the Prime Go, it doesn’t have any inbuilt storage so it may need to be selected first. I could be wrong but it’s something I think I’ve picked up at the back of my mind.

Hope that helps.

Yes as @MrWilks said.

Once you have an SD card or USB stick in the console and it’s selected as a source then whenever you load up anything from any streaming site, the analysis, cue points are all stored and saved so next time you load that same track(s) it will just load with all the analysis done with all your cue points ready.

thanks!

and what about playlists? Do any of you guys have way to create playlist from Beatport music directly in the Go? My Go is collecting dust, since i prepare at home with Beatport only…this service is just so good for me, inc 1000 songs offline in that locker thing on my cdjs for gigs
