Bar cutting / beat compensation tool

Some tracks contain half-bars or irregular phrasing that push the musical structure out of alignment. A dedicated bar cutting / beat compensation tool would allow the user to remove or offset 1–4 beats at any point in a track — without changing BPM or affecting the rest of the grid.

This would let DJs instantly realign phrasing so the next bar lands correctly on the downbeat, preserving musical structure while maintaining grid stability. It removes the need for workarounds and makes preparation of edits, live recordings, and non-standard tracks fast and precise.

A major additional benefit would be tighter SoundSwitch integration. By defining the true first bar directly in Engine Desktop, SoundSwitch could read phrasing more accurately, resulting in cleaner lighting timing and fewer manual adjustments.:light_bulb:

In practice, this feature would give DJs structural control over real-world music, speed up track prep, and strengthen the Engine DJ + SoundSwitch workflow — improving both performance reliability and creative confidence.

Meanwhile, I use Ableton Live for that as well as fixing wobbly BPM, re/complimentary drumming, and sometimes adding intro and outros. All the while I do like to respect the original production.
