Backup and copy of Device Created Playlists

Alright, I have a procedural issue regarding how device created playlists are;

A: Moved to the EngineDJ computer program via USB stick.

B: Copied to or backed up on another USB stick. (or on the computer for that matter)

Once a playlist is created, say on a Prime 4 or whatever, if I eject the drive and place it in the computer EngineDJ doesn’t allow me to Sync back to EngineDJ. It just allows sync TO usb drive.

Now in Engine, if you click on the drive to show it’s contents it does show the new playlist. And for some reason it sticks. If you eject the drive the playlist stays in the Collection. How did this come about? Undocumented feature?

Also, if I had tried to copy this to a different drive it would not copy the device created playlist. The playlist showed up back on the Prime 4 but it was empty.

Now I actually TRIED to recreate this with a larger (115 tracks) and it failed to work. The playlist was on the usb drive side of Sync Manager but not on the computer side.

Because I wanted to have this playlist to be somewhat permanent, I recreated the playlist in EngineDJ and filled it with the same tracks. Then sync’ed it to the USB drive.

On the Prime 4, with the copied drive, I now had the playlist BUT there are 2 copies of each song! What? How/why did that happen? First it wouldn’t show up and now there are 2 copies in the playlist.

Is there a procedure to do this properly? Why do playlists not trigger a Sync to Computer?

There was a previous thread but it was never answered.

Thanks Everyone..

Anyone? Anyone?

This may sound simple enough, but why am I getting weird results?
