This is a really nice documentary on Avicii…
He will forever be missed…
His music lives on…
Not a fan of him, his music or EDM in general… but i will watch this as i think its an interesting insight into the mess that is DJ promotion and events, and pressuring popular artists to overload themselves.
It’s been going on since Elvis and perhaps even earlier, and nobody seems to have learnt their lesson.
As long as money can be made by exploiting the artists it will not stop. I’m sure it’s fun for the artists to begin with but the pressure must continue to build until breaking point
In my mind, DJs should be doing no more than 2/3 gigs a week, perhaps a couple more if they are localised in a single area, but not every week. Promotors need to know their place and that place is to look after their artists, not just financially but mentally.
I think James Hype is a !£$%&?@ but he posted a video recently on the constant nature of the gigs, and wanting to back off a bit…
It also saturates the experience too, going to see a top tier DJ is meant to be special. Joey Negro at Mambo then Pacha in 2006 for me, ill never forget it, imagine if id seen him 100 times rather than the 2/3 i have seen him, would i remember it so much?
So many young DJs want to follow in his path. . I don’t see why
Button bashing gamer kids become adults and want new button bashing hobbies?
Without alcohol and drugs maybe he still could be here
Imo Avicii was one of the, if not THE greatest producer in his genre in many many years. As a dj he was average, but as a producer he was simply amazing.
He had an amazing ear for melodies and compositioning.
The first documentary that came out got me so damn angry on his manager, but this latest gives a more deep insight in Tim, the person, not behind but “underneath” the facade Avicii.
I really liked this one.
I dont know the full story, and there’s alot of rumours regarding his father and so on.
But overall, this is a really good documentary, and IMO his death was a huge loss to electronic music.
