Auto Playlist issues

I’ve been trying the new ‘play playlist’ feature in 2.0, but I’m having a couple of issues. Firstly, even when I change the setting of ‘Playlist Crossfade Time’ to 6 seconds, it still plays right to the end of the track including silence before starting the next one.

Also, if I use this playlist feature, it puts the screen into playlist mode, which includes the track list in the middle. That’s fine for when the playlist is playing, but when I use SHIFT and VIEW to try to go back to horizontal view for when I’m actually DJing, it says it can’t switch to horizontal in playlist mode, and I don’t know how to get out of it.

Try to set a longer time, maybe 15 seconds, so you can see if it works.

With the Prime 4 to have the “Play As Playlist” function you have to use the vertical waveform mode. You cannot go back to horizontal waves.

Hi DjAj - thanks for the reply. I’ve tried changing it to 12 secs but still the same. Also, the playlist is only using one deck, should it be using two in order to enable to crossfade to the next track? When I want to finish auto playing the playlist, I want to take it out playlist mode so I can actually DJ, it’s then when I want to change it back to horizontal, but can’t work out how to do it.

To close the playlist you have to use the big “X” at the top of the screen, it appears next to the skip track buttons. When you have stopped playback you resume normal control of deck 4, and only then can you return to the horizontal view.

I’m using decks 1 and 2, is that the issue?

Yes it was! Using Deck 4 now, thanks!

If you send the playlist to the ZONE OUT output (always using Deck 4), you can also mix using decks 1,2,3 but only in vertical mode. You can also send the playlist to the MASTER output and in that case if you want to insert your mix start at the end of a track of the playlist you can definitely do it using the faders as usual. As soon as you have played your Deck 1 track (for example) you can close the playlist (“X” button) and switch to horizontal view.
