The (paid) Beta for Deadmau5’s new DJ app with a producer slant has just gone live. Has some pretty cool forward thinking ideas implemented like arrangements and plugins. Fully midi / osc mappable. 16 Cues per track. Ableton Link for both midi clock and audio routing. I like the concept.

I think that naming any software aimed at a skills based / performance based activity “Auto” is going to stir up some negative feelings from those who have skills.
Adding “pilot” to it, also seems to suggest that a DJ is no longer required.
Hopefully people will look at its features, rather than its name. But perhaps a better , more enabling, name can be found
Interesting that it has an arrangement mode, which was what Atomix were touting as a feature (“timeline”) in early VDJ 8 demos in 2012.
Unfortunately they decided to remove it before release.
I just think the name is cause of his other project, Testpilot. He calls himself that when playing techno etc etc
Thats kind of egotistically sad.
