Hmm, was this a faux pas? I turned on two Wi-Fi active SC6000 and no message to update. Engine DJ desktop is not asking to be updated.

I think that’s fairly obvious at this point isn’t it, an unannounced .3 firmware update appearing on some devices.

I’ve had them appear on SC6000’s hours before they are announced. But, yep, this as you describe.

Yeah I remember a couple of them being slightly early, this feels like a massive error though, especially the Apple Music thing.

The Engine OS 4.3 Anomaly: A Tale of Lost Time and Alien Interference? :flying_saucer:

Gather 'round, everyone, and listen closely … Midnight has come, and the firelight is the only thing that keeps the shadows at bay. But not for long … Tonight, I have a story that will send a chill down your spine.

It started with a simple forum post. Some users claimed their Denon DJ gear had automatically updated to Engine OS 4.3. Others refreshed their screens, rebooted their players, and checked every setting—nothing. No update. No prompt. As if version 4.3 simply didn’t exist for them.

At first, the theories were predictable: staggered rollouts, server-side delays, the usual tech excuses. But then the reports started getting … strange.

A user mentioned a gap in his memory. He had left his Prime 4+ switched on to check for updates before going to bed. When he woke up, three hours were missing from his night. The update had failed, but his history showed activity—tracks loaded and played, even a recorded mix he didn’t remember making.

Another user reported flickering lights and a high-pitched whine from their SC6000s at 3:03 AM, right as they tried to force the update. Their entire system locked up, and the next thing they knew, it was 4:04 AM, with no memory of the missing time.

The speculation turned wild. Were certain DJs being targeted? Was Engine OS 4.3 a real update, or a frequency shift only affecting some? One user ran a spectrogram analysis on a failed update attempt and found an ultra-high-frequency signal embedded in the data transfer—above human hearing, but present. A signal that shouldn’t be there …

And then came the most unsettling post of all, from a user named PsyIsArt, who had supposedly received the update:

“I got it. But the waveforms are … wrong. The grid looks fine, but when I play the tracks, there are sounds I didn’t put there. A low hum beneath the bass. Voices in the reverb tails. It feels like … someone else is mixing with me. And there is something in the sky!!1”

The thread was deleted shortly after. PsyIsArt’s account vanished.

Was Engine OS 4.3 just a routine update? A software glitch? Or had some of us been skipped because we weren’t supposed to hear the signal? Because our hardware hadn’t yet been … tuned?

Some say those who never got the update should count themselves lucky … But others still wake up at 3:03 AM, staring at their silent players, wondering when the signal will come for them … rumour has it that the ghost of PsyIsArt appears in the nights of OS updates and leaves silly stories in abandonned forum threads …

Plus devices have DRM onboard, that DRM isn’t just for Amazon music but any audio & video streaming service that needs copyright protection as well as hardware device security. So I can’t see non-plus devices getting any encrypted services.

But they work with Tidal/Beatport, don’t they ?

Oh ooh. Lets just see how long the excitement lasts before oh p**p Lol his is not working thats locked up. My database has disappeared. Shall I go on?

Ok people before you update! BACKUP YOU 5H1T!! Any posts after this warning, I will ignore lol :joy:
