Hi there I was thinking of getting an akai pro force so I can do samples and drums and was wondering if it is compatible with the prime 4 can anyone help ?
Hey I have akai force and I’m using it in cooperation with SC6000. But I think with Prime 4 should work very similarly. Over ethernet You can use the ableton link to sync them together. Audio output from the force run to one of the analog inputs in Prime 4. To catch samples you need to use booth or record out from prime 4 in to force inputs…
Thanx that’s awesome
Hi I’m really interested in what your doing here but not 100% sure what you mean. I also have a SC6000m and a MPC one that also has a Ethernet link and supports ableton link. Do I have to have a computer with ableton running on it to link these or do they link together without? And if so are you sampling tracks on the fly whilst mixing? Thanks in advance
Yes, I do sample loops from tracks for later use. Akai and Denon SC6000 have both Ableton link, so they can sync nicely together.
Your best bet would be to sample from deck 4 using the zone out to the force and from the force back into one of the other 3 channels on your prime 4.
Fun coincidence; I experienced a sudden surge of interest in the Akai Force yesterday, even found a mint+ example just a few blocks away from my home, which I bought today for a good price. It’s big and sexy, and seems far more intuitive than the MC-707 I have owned before. I don’t have my Prime 4 yet, but you can guess how thrilled I am about the bonus ability to easily connect and sync them together via Ethernet thanks to Ableton Link. I already gave Roland and Serato my kudos for TR Sync, but this is even better. As touted ‘club standard’, the Pioneer ecosystem seems surprisingly locked and limited compared to the cross-device opportunities of InMusic, especially when it comes to laptop-free performance. Hybrid-DJing, Sound2DMX, etc…
TL;DR - thanks for bringing Ableton Link support!
thanks! good advise! I’m going to shop for my akai…
